All 7,427 items, baskets and envelopes are ready for Project Christmas Basket 2013 on Saturday December 7. We have 3,114 items loaded in one trailer with the remaining 4,313 items ready to be loaded early Saturday morning to take to the UPS Center at 117 Larcel Dr. in Sikeston, MO.
We will deliver 217 baskets to Sikeston, Dexter, East Prairie/Anniston and Portageville residents. The day will start very early as we load the remaining items, pull the trailer to the UPS location and get everything set up. At 8 AM our army of volunteers will load the individual items into the baskets and into the UPS trucks for delivery the locations in each city.
After the baskets are loaded, groups of volunteers will follow the UPS trucks to each town and deliver the baskets to some well deserving senior and disabled adults. There are so many friends we want to thank that we would surely forget someone if we tried to name them all. You know who you are and have been awesome and a very big help! We appreciate everyone who has donated their time and energy to get everything ready. A big thanks to all who have and are donating. We are still a little short of our $8750 goal but that won’t stop us as we know that God will provide the remaining amount.
We want this event to be very festive and exciting for the basket recipients, so please wear something green or red and if you have a Santa hat please wear that also. Try to come a little early so we can get everyone name tags and get the liability and photo release forms signed. If you need directions or more info you can message us with a comment below or through our LBFOL Facebook page.
If you can’t help but you still want to donate you can do so through PayPal or send a check to our postal address.
Thanks again and God Bless each of you! Marilyn
