Laundry Baskets Full of Love is two years old, and what’s a birthday without a party? On Sunday, September 1, we were honored by Trinity Gospel Church in Sikeston, where Pastors Len and Judy Meyers talked about what we have been able to do with the help of our volunteers over the past two years and then surprised us with a special donation.
It is always great to receive donations, no matter where they come from, but this one was a little extra special, because Trinity Gospel is LBFOL’s “home” church and it’s wonderful to be recognized by those you feel close to.
It is only because of the generous giving of individuals and organizations like this, and our faithful volunteers that we have been able to deliver 760 baskets to senior adults and families in need in just two years.
This donation will help with our 2nd annual Project Christmas Basket on December 7, 2013. If you want to be part of a great event that will make Christmas a reality for hundreds of senior adults and families this year, we have many ways to help, from making a much needed donation that will help us buy baskets and supplies, to marking your calender and coming help us fill and deliver the baskets.
With your help, we will reach our 1000th basket delivery during Project Christmas Basket 2013.
A couple of civic groups and organizations have invited LBFOL to attend their meetings this week to talk about what we’re doing and we’re looking forward to working with local groups interested in raising donations and collecting items to help us deliver God’s love one laundry basket at a time.
Once, again,. thank you to all the volunteers who have helped us over the past two years. There is no way we could name everyone who has helped, but God knows and will bless each one, and if you have ever been a part of a delivery, you know what it feels like to see someone’s face light up when they see what LBFOL has put together for them. If you would like to help in any way with LBFOL please email us through the site or contact us through the LBFOL Facebook page.
Thanks in advance and God bless each of you,
