3rd annual Project Christmas Basket December 6, 2014

We will be having our 3rd annual PCB on December 6, 2014. We have the approval of twonew UPS Centers this year to have our Project Christmas Basket. We will have two LBFOL volunteer teams going to the UPS Center 660 Gettings Lane Hayti, MO at 8:00 am and the UPS Center 1004 S. Broadway St. Poplar Bluff, MO at 9:00 am on Saturday December 6, 2014. We will put the baskets together at both centers and using the UPS trucks and drivers to deliver the baskets. We need volunteers to help us put baskets together and follow the drivers to the designated houses and help deliver the baskets. If you would like to help us on this day you can email us from our contact us page or message us from our face book page. We also have a face book event page where we will update more often.  Each year we have volunteers help and have a great time putting baskets together and delivering them. They come away with a greater appreciation for what they have and priceless memories of how they touched an elderly or disabled citizen/family with just a “laundry basket full of love”. To most of those who receive a basket it is a God send!

In the words of some of our recipients

Although I don’t know you, I feel you must be family. I wanted to write this note to thank you for my basket. God bless each of you who helped in this gesture of loving your neighbor. I was both blessed and surprised when mine was brought to me. Yes it helped and yes it reminded me that God does love me and yes there is hope.”

“A heartfelt thank you for what is warmly called the “Love Basket” given to us at just the right time. Every single gift in the basket is being used and each time we use something we are reminded of your kindness. The deciding of what to actually put in the basket covers may areas of daily use eve the “laundry love basket” it came in. Just to let you know, the basket was on my list of things I needed when it came to us! Again thank you and God richly bless you all.”

We have delivered 1189 baskets since we started in September of 2011. 1189 baskets that have blessed so many more families than we will ever know and touched the lives of all our volunteers. From the words of one volunteer “I was so moved from the experience of delivering the baskets. I will never be the same”.

If you would like to help or donate you can reach us at our contact us page. We have a pay pal account or mailing address there. All donations are tax deductible. Looking forward to hearing from you! Thank you in advance and God Bless each of you,  Marilyn
